At Volta Motorcycles, we believe the future of riding should be affordable, sustainable, and electric. Our mission is to make high-performance electric motorcycles available to everyone, whether through our flagship Atlas or by giving existing gas motorcycles a second life with electric power.
We envision a world where riders no longer have to choose between performance and the planet. Atlas brings cutting-edge design and instant torque to streets, redefining what motorcycles can be. At the same time, our recycled motorcycle conversions keep the spirit of classic bikes alive while eliminating emissions and reducing waste.
Every Volta motorcycle is a step towards a cleaner, quieter, and more connected riding future. We’re here to electrify adventure, empower riders, and reshape the roads ahead – one build at a time.
One year ago, Volta Motorcycles set out with a simple mission: to make electric riding accessible, affordable, and unforgettable. What started in a living room has grown into a movement — a new way of thinking about sustainable mobility, and the road ahead.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve built, tested, and launched the first generation of Volta's flagship model — Atlas — designed to redefine what an electric motorcycle can be, further developed our ethos of turning recycled frames into zero-emission machines, created jobs, built partnerships, and inspired riders to think differently.
This is only the beginning. We've been lucky to connect hundreds of passionate riders, builders, and dreamers who believe in what’s next. But this is only the beginning. The road ahead is charged with possibility — and we’re just getting warmed up.
Thank you to everyone who believed in Volta this first year: our team, our riders, our community. Your energy fuels everything we do.
Here’s to year two — faster, smarter, and electric.
Are you looking to ride electric? Volta builds motorcycles with different ranges, speeds, and motors. Explore our catalog of motorcycle powertrains to find the ride of your dreams!
Volta Motorcycles recycles, converts, and builds popular Honda CB, Kawasaki Z1, Suzuki GS, and Yamaha XS models into powerful, stylish, and capable EVs backed by a warranty.

This summer, Volta turned heads by making a splash in Minnesota’s entrepreneurial landscape. We were proud to be selected as a semifinalist in MN Cup — the nation’s premier startup competition that supports founders through mentorship, resources, and seed awards.
That honor meant more than prestige. Being among the top-ranked applicants was early validation that our vision of clean mobility resonated beyond our immediate circle.
For the 2025 season, Volta Motorcycles finished as a semi-finalist in the Clean Energy, Tech, and Water Division & CEO Wesley Ross finished as a finalist for the J.P. Morgan Chase BIPOC Founder of the Year Award.
Volta hit the stage at Ramsey County’s Tech Tour, joining some of Minnesota’s most forward-thinking founders and innovators. Our founder, Wesley Ross, shared Volta’s story — from the first converted bike to building a brand that bridges sustainability, affordability, and design.
The event was a full-circle moment: recognition from the local tech ecosystem and a chance to inspire the next wave of makers and dreamers. Tech Tour wasn’t just a spotlight — it was proof that innovation and impact can start small and still reach far.
To close out the summer, Volta took part in Fair of the Future, a showcase of emerging technology, design, and sustainability. Surrounded by creative thinkers and innovators, we presented our latest builds and talked with attendees about the intersection of mobility and climate impact.
The event captured everything we stand for — creativity, collaboration, and progress. It was the perfect way to wrap up a season that reminded us just how much energy and excitement there is around building a better future, one electric vehicle at a time.
Community has always been at the heart of Volta, and Innovation at the Park brought that spirit to life. Visitors explored our bikes, learned about how we convert classic frames into electric systems, and got to see the craftsmanship behind every build.
The event wasn’t just about showcasing tech — it was about connection. Every conversation, question, and test ride reminded us why we do what we do: to make clean transportation accessible, exciting, and built for everyone. By creating conversations, we wanted to demystify what “electric mobility” means in everyday life.
Every year, over 600,000 motorcycles and mopeds are scrapped worldwide, contributing to growing global waste and pollution. Converting gas motorcycles to electric isn’t just about performance – it’s about sustainability. By electrifying existing bikes, we keep valuable materials out of landfills, reduce manufacturing emissions, and extend the life of machines that still have so much to give.
Electric conversions eliminate tailpipe emissions, reduce maintenance costs, and bring new life to the motorcycles riders already love. It’s a smarter, cleaner, and more affordable way to embrace the future of mobility – while making a meaningful impact on our planet.
On average, gas motorcycles emit about 0.3 to 0.5 kg CO₂ per mile. Each Volta build offsets over 1,000 lbs of CO₂ emissions annually compared to a typical gas motorcycle. Depending on the mileage driven per year, this figure can be significantly higher, depending on usage.
